Despacito was a track from the year 2017 released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi. It was the single that became the most streamed track in the world within six months. The combination of reggaeton and pop music has not only brought an interest to this genre but as well to Latin music as a whole. Billboard's Top 100 included four mostly Spanish songs in 2016, and two songs in 2015. In 2017, at the height of popularity for Despacito, 19 tracks mainly in Spanish were included in the Billboard Top 100. In 2020, there will be 41 songs within this genre. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017. In the year following, the most well-known artists began collaborating together with reggaeton groups. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny for the production of MIA (2018) and Madonna worked on Medellin with Maluma (2019). In the year 2020, some reggaeton musicians protested that the genre was heading towards the popular. Rauw Alajandro is a member of a brand new generation looking to alter the course. Incorporating elements of electronic dance music and various other genres was a typical practice.
