Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Born in California USA, Amy Smart started her modeling career in California. The beginning of her acting career came in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure the role for Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was very intense. It was a hard time for her to transition from modeling to acting since the models were never considered to be good actors, and they were usually given smaller and inconsequential parts. Amy never gave up. Her first role came in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. In 2005, she was cast as the lead in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy attained the fame she'd been seeking for nearly 10 years, when her movie, Just Friends was released. Amy continued to make major films such as the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed the well-loved character of recurring.
